Geometry and Topology

Geometry is the study of symmetry and shape. It is perhaps the oldest mathematical subject, and one at the forefront of research today. Geometers at A&M span the field, with interests in Algebraic, Differential, and Discrete Geometry, as well as algebraic topology. The department has special strengths in computational and applied geometry. There is significant overlapping interests with mathematical physics (both within the Mathematics and Physics departments).
