Tenure Track and Visiting Positions Available

Tenure Track Positions

The Department of Mathematics anticipates openings for Assistant Professor (tenure track) positions beginning Fall 2017. A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. We seek very strong potential in both research and teaching; research productivity beyond the doctoral dissertation will normally be expected.

Visiting Faculty Positions

The Department of Mathematics anticipates several openings for visiting faculty positions beginning fall 2017.
Our Visiting Assistant Professor positions are three-year appointments and carry a three course per year teaching load. They are intended for those who have recently finished their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests are close to those of our regular faculty.

A complete dossier should be received by December 1, 2016. Early applications are encouraged since the department will start the review process in early November, 2016. Timetable of the Hiring Process

  • Deadline for Applications - November 15, 2016 (TT), December 1, 2016 (Visiting). Early submissions are encouraged.
  • Screening for both tenure track and visiting positions will begin early to mid November 2016 and we expect to extend invitations for interviews shortly thereafter.
  • Senior visiting positions are primarily funded from salary savings generated from sabbatical leaves of our existing faculty. Offers for these positions are made as funding becomes available.
